US halts export of civilian firearms and ammunition for 90 days

The United States of America has placed and embargo on issuing export licenses for civilian firearms and ammunition for 3 months for 90 for all non-governmental users, the United States Department of Commerce advised international suppliers.
The United States Department of Commerce did not provide further details for the embargo, which also includes shotguns and optical sights and other firearms related items.
It is alleged existing permits under issued by United States Department of Commerce will be honoured although suppliers are not providing clear details.
